I know I know… this post is a little past due but I’m here and setting my 2013 goals. Better late then never right?
2012 was a huge year for me. I stopped hesitating in many aspects of life and started making things happen.
One of the biggest things was taking my backpacking trip through parts of Central America. It was only 35 days, but it was a great taste of a possible lifestyle I’m looking to explore in the near future. After I came back I went through a slight depression and to be quite honest, I’m not sure if I’ve felt as alive as I did when I was in the middle of it all.
One of the bigger things on my bucket list is to have a location independent income to travel whenever and anywhere I would like.
More about that later, here’s a recap of the bigger things that happened this year:
– My picture was finally posted on Jones Soda (knocked off get a picture published from the bucket list)
– I finally went to Mexico to visit my dad who I hadn’t seen in about 7 years.
– I took my first relatively large backpacking trip through Central America! (loved it)
– I stayed in hostels the entire time and realized that living like that would be comfortable for me.
– I knocked off learning to surf from my bucket list.
– Shortly after the trip I turned 24 and wrote this post.
– I finally made it to Colorado Great Sand Dunes.
Those were the bigger ones that I posted about on here, but a lot more happened that was out of the picture.
I started getting some advice in regards to my website as well as ways to move more towards the location independent lifestyle.
This brings me to my goals I have set for this year.
First off, I’m pretty stoked with the growth of this website. Over the past few months the amount of traffic has at least tripled and I’ve been getting more comments on posts and subscribers to my newsletter.
Granted, this is no where near what the big amount of traffic that other blogs receive, this is a lot for mine.
Just towards the end of this year I started learning a lot more in regards to optimizing websites and posts. From what I’ve learned I feel like I’m at a point where I can start creating more specific niche sites around my hobbies and monetizing them.
This would all work towards my ultimate goal of creating an independent lifestyle which revolves around things that I’m passionate about.
Last year’s resolution was more of a shift in mindset. This year’s goal is going to be specific with different milestones set throughout the year in hopes to achieve the lifestyle I want.
I’ve already begun work on some different niche sites. It’s going to be these that I hope to monetize while I talk about how I do it on here.
So the 2013 goals are going to be spread three months apart, consistently building up until the beginning of next year:
March – Simple, make my first dollar via niche sites. (This can be affiliate link purchase, sponsorship, ebook sales, whatever) Mission Accomplished!
June – Seeing that I can make a dollar, I want to push this to be making $100 per month at this point.
September – Gain momentum and be making $300 a month through niche sites.
December – $500 per month. (I’m hoping to shatter this, but with $500 I can achieve the lifestyle I want in many parts of the world)
Looking at the end goal and where I am now it feels like a daunting task. It’s one that I feel I can make happen and will make happen. The big thing are the numbers I’ve made for myself. Those will help keep me motivated.
To make this all happen and stay motivated I’m hoping to begin surrounding myself with more people/writers with similar interests.
Also, I want to start writing about all of my trials and errors. Not so much on here, but on my newsletter.
Once a month I’m going to post statistics and share that with my newsletter readers. I’ll have actual numbers in regards to website visitors, successful posts and when it comes to it, money made and how I made it.
I invite all of you to subscribe and follow along. If you’re a fellow blogger/writer maybe I can help out in some way.
Like I said before, I want to begin talking to more people with similar goals. If you have a blog or are looking to gain more readers shoot me an email. pablo @ wherespablo.com
Let’s talk, keep each other motivated and maybe even hold each other accountable to certain goals and expectations.
I’m super excited for this year and am looking forward towards building towards a new lifestyle! Let’s make some shit happen!
