You’ve heard of Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, with its cosmopolitan capital Palma and its wonderful holiday resorts. You’re familiar with Ibiza, famous for its larger than life party scene and summer clubbing holidays. But what about Menorca?
Far from the buzz and bustle of its neighbors, Menorca is all about taking things easy. It’s a haven for relaxing escapes, and in place of nightclubs and concrete jungles you’ll find pretty little towns, quaint fishing harbors and superb restaurants serving up the freshest cuisine. It’s said to be home to more beaches than the rest of the Balearic Islands put together. That’s quite a statement, and of course if you’re not sure, you could always take yourself on a barefoot voyage to put that theory to the test.
It’s beautiful too. From its red sandstone cliffs and pine-fringed bays to its sprawling nature reserves, Menorca is quite a spectacle.
If you’ve got the kids in tow and you’re looking for things to do, there’s a great water park near the family-friendly resort of Cala’n Forcat, where the little ones can splash around to their heart’s content and mum and dad can kick back under the sun’s rays. Or, why not let your little charges have fun in the hotel kids’ club for the day while you hotfoot it to the nearest car rental, and enjoy a day of exploring and seeing the sights?
Whatever you fancy, you’ll find plenty of choice by booking through a tour operator. Whether you choose a well established brand like Thomas Cook Holidays or opt for a smaller, local tour operator, you’ll find a fantastic choice of holiday experiences in Menorca to suit every taste and budget imaginable. The only difficulty you’ll face is deciding which holiday to go for…
