Zorbing, Clocks and Kony 2012 (Muddy Monday)

Another weekend has come and gone and now it’s Monday yet again. I hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was spent geeking out on some work related stuff. I went to ReefStock in Denver which is a convention pertaining to the reef aquarium hobby. So pretty much a lot of people getting excited about new lights, pumps and of course, cool corals. Not for everybody but I enjoy it :) Anyway, have a good week and for anybody that has a difficult time waking up check out the second link ;)

Zorbing in the Smokey Mountains What is Zorbing you ask? Imagine a giant human sized hamster ball. Now imagine you’re inside of it and somebody pushes you down a large hill… That’s zorbing! I read about it a few years back but just recently found out that there is an official zorbing site in Tennessee. I’ll definitely be planning for that :) I can check off another state and another number off of my bucket list!

Flying Alarm Clock When it comes to waking up on time I’ve gotten a lot better over the years, but I still have those days when I hit snooze a handful of times. We were having a conversation about this at work last week when we got on the topic of strange alarm clocks.

When the timer goes off on the this alarm clock it shoots up a little helicopter like thing and doesn’t shut off until it is returned into place. This was mentioned along with a toy car that does practically the same thing but drives rather than flies. Pretty funny stuff, I just don’t imagine things ending well between me and the alarm clock…

Kony 2012 Kony 2012 is spreading like wildfire throughout all social media. If you haven’t watched the video or read about him already I recommend clicking on the link. Leader of the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army), Joseph Kony and the LRA have abducted more than 30,000 children and displaced at least 2.1 million people. The goal of Kony 2012 is to gain support and momentum throughout the year to spur efforts towards capturing Joseph Kony, bringing him to justice and putting a stop to this all. If you can, watch the 30 minute video, it’s pretty powerful. Whether you decide to support or not is up to you. Stay informed and if you do support anything, do it because you want to and know how you are supporting. Don’t do it because it is the “cool” thing to do but do it because you truly care and want to.

Video of the week and new musical group I came across is Retro Stefson. Interesting music along with a pretty awesome video.

  1. Speaking of strange alarm clocks, have you heard of the money-shredding alarm clock? You place a bill in the clock before you go to bed, and if you don’t get up to shut your alarm when it beeps, it shreds your money. Clever idea, but illegal nonetheless.
